Erica Eyres |
2015 | graphite on paper | 11.75 x 16.5

Seven women stand in a procession in Erica Eyres’ sensitive and strange pencil on paper drawing Women in a Line. Eyres uses the leading naturist magazine Health & Efficiency as a reference for this body of work and there is a certain vulnerability to the representation of her characters.

Erica Eyres is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland. Her drawings, sculpture, and video work sensitively explore vulnerability. Eyres received her BFA Honours from the University of Manitoba’s School of Art in 2002; her MFA from the Glasgow School of Art in 2004; and is currently a Ph.D. student at the Northumbria University. Recent solo exhibitions include Holidays in the Future, Lisa Kehler Art + Projects, Winnipeg; Biography Channel, ASC Gallery, London; and Family Studies, Glasgow Project Room, Glasgow. Eyres’ work can be found in international collections, including The Rubell Family Collection, Miami and The David Roberts Collection, London. Eyres is represented by Lisa Kehler Art + Projects, Winnipeg.
