Published by Plug In Editions in partnership with Fillip, Stagelessness is a visual essay on the history and evolution of the stage by collaborative duo grupa o.k.
In a sequence of images with extended captions grupa o.k. investigates the physical spaces that create formal distinctions “between spectacle and spectators, orator and audience, performers and those-performed-for, actors and those-acted-upon.”
Fillip's occasional pamphlet series Supplements includes previous publications by John C. Welchman, Susanne Kriemann and Eva Wilson, & Toril Johannessen.
Stagelessness is the second in a series of four Supplements produced in collaboration between Filip and Plug In ICA. This series is in response to Plug In ICA's STAGES biennial whose first iteration Stages: Drawing the Curtain, curated by Jenifer Papararo took place throughout the city of Winnipeg August 18 - September 4, 2017. STAGES biennial 2019 will run August 16 - September 8, 2019, more information can be found at https://plugin.org/stages-2019/.

grupa o.k.’s productions include "Goodbye, Auteur" (Art Journal, 2019), “The Prehistory of Exhibition History” (Art Journal, 2017), “Proposal for a Museum” (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, 2013), and “Robert Morris Is Unavailable” (Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, 2011).
