This print by BUSH gallery documents a performance and learning process. A demonstration of how knowledge is gained and shared could as easily take place playing basketball in front of a mural as it could in a classroom. This work featured in our auction was produced during Plug In ICA’s 2018 Summer Institute. The participants dedicated time to play basketball in front of the mural Peace and Harmony honouring famed Manitoba painter Jackson Beardy, located on Selkirk Avenue, in Winnipeg. This work exemplifies the community-minded, experimental, and playful atmosphere that fostered an unhampered process of contemplation, resistance, and creation for participants during Summer Institute II: Site/ation.

Founded in 2013 by Gabrielle L’Hirondelle Hill, Peter Morin, and Tania Willard, BUSH fosters the spirit of experimentation through the exchange of culture, knowledge and art in a decolonized and non-institutionalized environment.
