Cranfield and slade: 10 riot songs
10 Riot Songs is a document of a performance by Kathy Slade and Brady Cranfield and their band recorded live at The Candahar Bar in Vancouver, BC, Canada on February 19, 2010.
The Candahar Bar is a project by Theo Sims, curated by Reid Shier and Michael Turner for Presentation House Gallery, February 12 to 28, 2010.
10 Riot Songs offers a set of covers of classic punk rock songs that engage with punk’s past as a possible, if idealized, sub-cultural expression of generalized discontent and politicized anger (responses provoked for many by the events of the 2010 Olympic games).
Riot Songs pays tribute to the bands DOA, Stiff Little Fingers, Subhumans, Dead Kennedys, Fear, Circle Jerks, Stiffs, The Rezillos, The Clash, and The Dils.
Riot Songs is made up of Kathy Slade (vocals), Brady Cranfield (drums), Chris Harris (vocals/guitar), Christa Min (guitar), and Richard Trawick (bass).
