Dayna Danger’s work for the auction is from her series Sisters (2015). This series is the first time Danger become the subject of her work and explores the complex relationships of family and identity.
Dayna Danger is an emerging 2Spirit/Queer, Metis/Saulteaux/Polish artist raised in Winnipeg, MB. Danger is currently based in Montreal, QC. She obtained her Graduate degree in Studio Arts from Concordia University in March 2017. Danger currently serves as a board member for the Aboriginal Curatorial Collective (ACC/CCA). Danger held a Visual Arts Studio Work Study at the Banff Centre, participated in Candice Hopkins and Raven Chacon’s thematic residency, Trading Post and this past summer was a participant in Plug In ICA’s Summer Institute: Session II with Walter Scott & Nikki Little. Danger has exhibited in Santa Fe, Winnipeg, Montreal, Peterborough, North Bay and Banff and with excitement in Unsettled: 2Spirit media art festival curated by Adrienne Stimpson. Her first solo exhibition B_i_g_’U_n_s_ opened this past June at Latitude 53 in Edmonton and her work was on the cover of Canadian Art, August 2017.
