Divya Mehra | God srsly while I watch her
2014 | gouache on water colour paper | 8” x 8” | Courtesy of Georgia Scherman Projects and the artist
God srsly while I watch her (2014) by Divya Mehra is a rough, pink, and blushing moment of online opinion. In this series, Mehra sourced text found in Youtube comment sections and re-presented these incredibly specific and honest statements in rapid, varying strokes of pink gouache. The work is unique for its gestural qualities, but is still representative of a Mehra’s renowned practice for its use of specific and contextual language.
