Amsterdam’s Kunstverein is a curatorial office that offers lectures, presentations, screenings, and independent publishing. Because of its unconventional structure, it allows alternative methods to be considered in terms of presentation, hosting, and exhibition-making. This extensive anthology is the first time the institute shares in print the variety of activities which took place between 2009 to 2019, and is filled with ephemera, images of performances and shows, bulletins, and much more. The book is adorned with two text by founding directors Maxine Kopsa and Krist Gruijthuijsen, a basement analogy by Anthony Huberman (founding director of Artist Institute NY and current director of The Wattis Institute) and Kunstverein’s freshly appointed director, Yana Foqué. The book also gives an unique overview of the identity Marc Hollenstein created for the institute and continued to work throughout.
