Mark Neufeld | Moving Sculpture 1
2012 | oil on canvas | 20 x 26 in

This gestural painting is from a larger body of work Re-Enactments that delves into Winnipeg’s colonial past.  The image captures a performative moment where an art-handler positions a somewhat generic bronze sculpture of a cowboy riding a bucking horse. The white gloves asserting the sculpture’s status as fine art while Neufeld’s painting renders its details flat.
