This beautiful vessel has an elegance and simplicity that has come to represent the contemporary designs of Thom Fougere, one of Winnipeg’s most respected furniture and interior designers. This carved tyndall stone piece is a reminder of place and time and is sure to become a valued part of anyone’s collection and heritage. Fougere has just designed furniture for the foyer of Plug In ICA and will be redesigning elements of our bookstore.
Thom Fougere is a Canadian product and furniture designer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His projects are characterized by their careful research into materiality, history, aesthetics, and functionality. Fougere studied architecture at the University of Manitoba and, by the age of 24, was appointed Creative Director of Canadian furniture design house EQ3. Fougere’s work has been featured extensively in international design exhibitions, including Makers+Bakers, Rossana Orlandi, Milan; Stockholm Furniture Fair, Greenhouse, Stockholm; and Wanted Design NYC, as part of NYC Design Week, New York. His designs are frequently featured in national and international journals and publications, including Azure, Domus, Dwell, Monocle, Sight Unseen, and Wallpaper. In 2015, he founded the Thom Fougere Studio, which offers full creative direction, furniture and interior design services.
